First Day in L.A.

Tue Jun 6, 2006, 10:12 AM
I'm currently vacationing in LA, CA with my brother. I've been to CA many times before, but never in LA. It's always been in the Fresno area. On our way back from the airport, we're on the freeway, and we nearly witness an accident. "Welcome to LA" is what my brother's friend says. Right away I notice how crazy these people are on the road, and I have to admit, they're a lot worse than people in Chicago!! My brother and I nearly got hit from this guy who was merging from the far right lane to the far left turning lane. No signal, no warning, nothing!! He just cut us off. My brother would have honked but sometimes you can get your ass in serious trouble if you honk at the wrong person.

So after we go to our hotel, we wanted to eat at this chinese buffest. His friend said it was pretty good, too. Since my brother and I have been to many buffets, we were expecting this one to be no different, but it was. The shrimp was bigger and the food selection was bigger as well. SADLY, the food wasn't that great. It LOOKED good, but it lacked the taste of anything. Most of the time, it needed some salt. I was about to get up to get my 2nd serving when I noticed this lady who falls on the floor. I see a guy trying to hold her up, so I thought he was a waiter who accidently made the customer fall. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. In a few seconds, he starts calling for help. Surprisingly, NO ONE does a damn thing, and my brother and I get up to help.

I kneel down towards the lady and notices that she's have a seizure. I tried dialing 911 on my cell, but frustratingly (if that's a word), it didn't go through!! Luckily, my brother yelled for someone to call 911. I tried to get the lady to stay focused, but when you're having a seizure, you're mind isn't all there. After she got out of it, she didn't know why she was on the floor, or why I was holding her hand and head. Her bf was in tears and was telling her that she fell, but she had no recollection of doing so. I asked him if she had any medical history or health problems but he told me she didn't, so I didn't know what to make of her condition.
When the paramedics arrived, my brother and I just went back to our table, but who can eat after an ordeal like that? All the while, he and I couldn't help but notice how no one even bothered to lend us a hand throughout the whole thing. People just stood and watched. Most people didn't even bother to turn their head from stuffing their faces. Even before the guy cried for help, several staff members just walked on by as if nothing was going on. They gathered and watched the whole thing!! Can you believe that? My brother had his digital camera with him, and for some reason, the staffers kept looking at him, probably thinking if he was going to file a lawsuit or something, not that there'd be any logical reason to do so. Idiots.

So, after that incident, we left and just drove around. We did find the beach!! Haha!! The sun was just setting at the time, but it gets very cloudy here, so it wasn't as cool as I wanted it to be. We did see these 2 guys in scuba gear. One of them dove into the ocean and was able to get past the waves. The second guy couldn't get past the waves after several attempts, so he just came back to shore, which we though was pretty funny. I was surprised that there weren't a lot of people along the beach. There were a lot of joggers, however. Too bad you have to pay the meters to park there. We're going to return to the beach later today and possibly take some pictures. I'll be sure to post some up if anyone is interested.

Check back later for another exciting adventure story. :P

Writing is as simple, and as complicated, as telling the truth as you see it.
Haha, yes you did!! Now I know who you are in here!! :)
:ahoy:

Stop bitching about some crazy old woman. Lets hang out again sometime.
Oh, sure!! It's easy for you to say because all you do is stay in your little area sorting mail for 4 hours. We really do need to go hang out again. James is never around when we do though.
Cool art! My faovrite is Chop chop. I have a fetish for robots.
I seriously have a weird fetish for robots for some reason, too. I think it's because of watching WAY too many Transformers and GoBots when I was a kid.
